Deadline extension: UN 2023 Water Conference side events

The deadline for applying to hold a side event at the UN 2023 Water Conference in March has been extended until 20 January 2023. The UN 2023 Water Conference will take place at the United Nations HQ in New York from 22 to 24 March 2023.

The Conference is formally known as the 2023 Conference for the Midterm Comprehensive Review of Implementation of the UN Decade for Action on Water and Sanitation (2018-2028). The co-hosts are the Governments of Tajikistan and the Netherlands.

Side events can be in-person or virtual and organized by Member States, the UN system, Intergovernmental Organizations and accredited non-governmental stakeholders. The side events will be an opportunity to share knowledge and solutions to accelerate implementation of SDG 6, identify new and emerging issues, exchange national and local experiences and practices, and showcase voluntary commitments for the Water Action Agenda.  

Priority will be given to events organized by Member States and those organized in partnership by several networks/organizations. All interested parties are strongly encouraged to partner with others to organize a side event.

The deadline is 20 January 2023. The Conference Secretariat will review submissions and notify only those organizers whose events have been approved.  

 

Register your delegation to participate in the UN 2023 Water Conference –  Registration is open from 9 January – 10 February 2023

Registration for non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions, the scientific community, the private sector and philanthropic organizations and other actors will be open from 9 January to 10 February, each accredited organization will be able to request registration up to 10 representatives.
